# Mataranka Falls

Mataranka, 103 km southeast of Katehrine (in the Northern Territory) is no more than a collection of houses, road-houses, a police station and a café. The attraction that everyone is talking about is undoubtedly the hot spring. But what no one, including most guides, is not talking about is the Mataranka Falls. The falls can only be reached on foot via a path that runs along the Mataranka River. Allow a few hours (round trip) to admire the falls. Once there, you hardly notice anyone around you. You can enjoy this beautiful piece of landscape in peace and quiet while the large masses are enjoying the warm water of the pools.
