# Veracruz (Mexico) – Esperanza (Guatemala)

Crossable with no checkpoints nor controls on either side. The switchbacks are reasonably graded. There is a junction road also just to the east also arriving in Esperanza. That road is heavily used by contraband truck traffic. I'd recommend the switchbacked road to Veracruz. The closest offical immigration offices are in Ciudad Cuahuatemoc and La Mesilla.
