# Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Rothenburg is known as THE romantic city. Its medieval character attracts

countless tourists who want to take a trip back in time with knights and castles. From Würzburg you can easily take the train from Central Station (T) to Rothenburg in just over an hour. Trains run every hour in both directions. Go for the ‘Bayern-Ticket’ if you are making a day trip or if you are in a group. It’s the cheapest option. Pro Traveller Hint: Every year in August the village transforms into the ‘Taubertal rock festival’, hosting 20.000 fans and the music scene’s greatest artists such as ‘Placebo’, ‘Limb Bizkit’ and ‘Rise Against’. So take that into account, whether you want to go or avoid it.
