# Käppele (Chapel)

If climbing more than 250 stairs for a fantastic view over the city is something that sounds good to you, you should definitely consider visiting the Käppele.

The via dolorosa illustrates the 14 stations of the cross, and leads to a splendid rococo pilgrimage church. The story goes, that a little boy found a wooden statue of Maria with little Jesus in her lap at the riverside in the 17th century. Soon after putting it at the top of the hill hordes of people started to go on pilgrimages there, so that we had to build a chapel there. Crazy Franconians.
