# Fortress Marienberg

We’re fairly sure that this is the castle Ed Sheeran was thinking of when he wrote his song. In any case, the Festung Marienberg is THE place to take your significant other or enjoy quality time with your friends. Bring a good local wine, food and whatever else you need to set the perfect mood. Then marvel at the

city from above and the priceless sunset in the west. Use our two recommended walking routes (or bus 9 from Residenzplatz to Schönborntor) to go up to and down from the castle. That way you’ll come across the biodiversity and recreational space of what used to be one of Bavaria’s main attractions in 1990.
