About
A former Portuguese colony, and a country with a history that is more about war than peace. For a long time this place was difficult for people to enter, but with the new president this rough diamond opens its doors, where you can find a unique hospitality and some stunning sights.

Routes
Visa
Most nationalities need a visa. Getting the e-visa is quite easy, although you may need to fake some documents (like the return ticket and letter of invitation).

Sleeping
Staying with locals
Not very common, only big cities offer CS hosts. Luanda has a few nice Warmshower hosts.
(Formal) camping
A great way of meeting locals and sleeping in your own comfortable bed. Ask anyone in a village and they will search a spot for you.
Ho(s)tels
Most cities have accomodation. Room with fan should be around 5.000 AOA, with AC a bit more.
Wild camping
Possible, there are quite some good spots to do. But make sure you are informed well about the landmines that might still be spread.

Food and drink
The Angolese kitchen is quite nice. Fish can be found almost anymore. A very delicious meal is bitoque, which contains rice, fries, egg and steak. On the road you can find bread, fruit and vegetables and cookies.
