People
The people seem to be a bit distant at first, but if you approach them and ask something, they will be happy to help. The young generation is much more open. Of course, people in the countryside are also curious about this strange cyclist, because tourists usually linger in the coastal region and the cities. In the countryside you will also be able to enjoy the authentic life as it has been for decades.
Bert: "The residents like to party: in the summer months they go out with large groups. They first play a kind of game without limits on a campsite and then the barbecue starts. Can be noisy, but if you can't beat them!!! I have been invited several times ".

Staying with locals
In the countryside there are so-called tourist farms where you can spend the night (bed & breakfast formula). Look out for small signposts marked "külalistemaja" or "puhkemaja" (meaning "guesthouse") or "turismitalu" (guest farm).
(Formal) camping
New campsites are emerging everywhere. Managers of holiday homes also offer their lawn as a parking space. The sanitary facilities of the campsites are remarkably good: a nice hot shower, toilet paper in the toilets and sometimes a sauna and a fully equipped kitchen. Several campsites are beautifully situated in nature. Prices are between 3 and 10 euros for a cyclist and a small tent.
Ho(s)tels
The international YH guide only mentions a few youth hostels in the Baltic States. The respective organizations are affiliated with the Finnish youth hostel center. However, there are plenty of alternative inns. These have a more extensive network and the operators speak at least one foreign language (English or German).
You will find hotels in all possible price ranges. Budget hotels are scarce and very sober.
Wild camping
There are information boards with a large map at various places in the country. Camping spots are indicated on it, but when you come close, nothing is indicated. Usually these are picnic / bbq places near a lake. There is a difference between campsites and campsites. The campsites are the places as described above with only a wooden dixie as sanitary facilities, washing must then be done in the lake (if there is one). Often there is also wood to make a fire. You can find info about free camping places in Estonia in the RMK phone app - or they have an online map, too. The map is the most precise map for Estonia you can find with small forest paths marked in it.
With the exception of the national parks, it is officially allowed to camp freely, and that is often done. There are many good places to be found.

Safety
Traffic
In general, the roads are quiet to very quiet, with the exception of the motorways (where cycling is allowed). An exception to this is June 23 (Midsummer). All Estonia's cars are then on the road. And drunken riders seem to be no exception

Food and drink
Cooking fuel
You can buy the well-known tanks for campingaz in tallinn at matkasport, about 5 km from the center in a shopping center along exit road 4 next to a large server supermarket. Rakser sport, karga 20, in haapsulu also has campingaz.
Supermarkets
Almost every village has a shop. There is a wide choice of food. Supermarkets can also be found in the larger cities. In every village shop, no matter how small, you can pay easily and super fast with a credit card. You can also drink coffee and tea in various village shops. They usually have cakes there too.
Drinkable water
Water from the tap is better to avoid. The beer is not expensive and of excellent quality. Brewery A. de Coq has many types of beer, including bock beers and beer of 12%.

Vaccinations & health
Estonia consists largely of non-cultivated area. There are many forests. There are many stabbing animals in the woods. If you leave the road for a while for your sanitary needs, an attack of hornets, mosquitoes and other small scum immediately follows.
