People
The people seem to be a bit distant at first. But if you approach them and ask something, they will be more than happy to help you. Of course people in the countryside are also curious about this strange cyclist, tourists want to stay mainly in the coastal region and the cities. In the countryside you will also be able to enjoy the authentic life as it has been for decades.

(Formal) camping
Campsites are often no more than a lawn with a tap from which fresh water comes out. There is still a toilet, but a shower is often unknown. The price is usually not in proportion to the offer. Some campsites have huts in which you have every comfort.
Campsites in the national parks are usually slightly better equipped, often on the banks of the rivers that run through them. At the same time, these campsites also serve as a meeting place for kayakers who want to sail down the rivers.
Ho(s)tels
You will find hotels in all possible price ranges. Budget hotels are scarce and very sober.
Wild camping
With the exception of the national parks, it is officially allowed to camp freely. There are many good places to be found.

Safety
Traffic
Numbered roads, especially those with a two-digit number, can be busy. On other roads it is generally calm to quiet, although closer to the larger towns it can be busy. Overtaking cars on asphalt usually go all the way to the left and therefore leave enough space. In contrast, gravel roads are driven hard, without regard for space, dust and other inconveniences.

Transport
Bus
Bus company Kautra advertises that they transport bicycles for free. Some of their buses are equipped with special racks to hang the bicycles on the back of the bus. However, if there is not much luggage in the hold, the bicycle will be transported there sooner. With other bus companies, it depends on the space and the mood of the driver whether the bicycle is allowed.
You can view all timetables at http://www.autobusubilietai.lt. Here, a bicycle symbol indicates which buses can take bicycles.

Food and drink
Cooking fuel
Spark plugs with gas are readily available at do-it-yourself stores, such as Senukai. It is also best to look for gas tanks with screw thread in these stores, but you will not always find them.
Supermarkets
In the cities there are supermarkets where almost everything is available. In the larger villages there is usually a local shop where basic items such as bread, vegetables and fruit are available. However, the range of fresh fruit and vegetables is often very limited (apples, potatoes, onions, tomatoes and cabbage are the most common).
Restaurants
Lithuanian cuisine has many similarities with Northern European and Slavic cuisine. The base is usually potatoes. As for meat, the schnitzel and pork steak are popular.
Drinkable water
Water from wells and springs is almost always drinkable, unless the well is in disuse and the water has become polluted. It is recommended to be careful when drinking tap water. Drinking water from bottles is available everywhere.
