Border crossing in Guinea-Bissau and Guinea
Candembel (Guinea-Bissau) – Simbeli (Guinea)
You can only reach this border crossing by foot or bicycle. You need to get the entry/exit stamp from Guinea-Bissau in the village of Candembel. Afterwards, you have to cycle through the jungle on a nice (but bumpy) gravel road. When you'll enter Guinea, you will pass two small villages, and need to cross a river by kayak. The villagers might want to trick you saying that they are the customs, but you have to get a stamp. Only after a while, you'll pass an official border post, where you see a chain hanging over the road, and wherre they will register your name in the big book. The official is very friendly and even let me camp on the football field, where I later joined a local football match.
