If you want to pass the Liberian-Cote d'Ivoire border passing Gnato, there are basically 2 options when you want to connect your route with Monrovia. You can go from Monrovia-Buchanan-Nyennfueh. From Nyennfueh you can go North towards Zwedru, or South to Greenville, and then make your way to the border at Gnato. However, the road conditions to and from Greenville are incredibly bad, and will tear down your bicycle quite a lot. Come prepared! Thick layers of mud were on top of the corrugated roads. Eventually I had to lift with a 4x4 to escape this part of the jungle and was brought to Fish Town City, where new paved roads are present.
