Northernmost place in the Americas accessible by public road. Only place in the Americas where you can reach the Arctic Ocean by bike over public roads from the more densely populated areas. There is some nice locally run small scale tourism infrastructure, like Grandma's Kitchen, a foodtruck which has fastfood made with local meats. Also there are posted camping spots throughout the village.
In Alaska there are roads further north also leading to the Arctic Ocean, but those are privately owned by oil companies.
