Själö is a tiny island known for its history (used to be a leper hospital and a mental asylum), as well as nature and church. At the moment, the island hosts the Archipelago Research Institute, which is a part of the University of Turku.
You can visit Själö while cycling around the Turku Archipelago, where it is part of the longer route and the route is open 14.5 - 29.8. For some ferries to take you from one island to another, you will need a ticket. Always check the ferries' timetable before departure.
