A land of volcanoes and bears in an extreme climate on this Russian far-east peninsula reaching out towards Japan with only the Kuril Islands in between.
It could be the most remote adventure destination for a cyclist not being scared of wild bears. Although these bears are less agressive compared to their cousin bears in Alaska as they have natural bait in abundance.
