Sorted by most likes

  1. See & do1. BudapestSee & doBudapest is the Paris of the East and has plenty of interesting sights to discover. It's even a good combination to take your bicycle with you and you can go… 1

Sleeping

(Formal) camping

Many campsites are only open from June. Campsites are sober, but cheap. Sometimes they are about 120 km apart

Ho(s)tels

Hostels in Budapest can be incredibly cheap, with 4 euro as the bottom price (not sure what you get). In other cities, the prices are higher.

Wild camping

It is not legal, but at some places it is tolerated. It's only a bit difficult around Lake Balaton.

Safety

Traffic

It is very busy around Budapest. Roads are sometimes good, but sometimes bad with many deep big holes in asphalt.

Transport

Train

The train is the preferred means of transport for taking the bicycle. You can travel cheaply by train. The bicycle can often be taken along, even if there is no baggage car, just at the end of the last wagon, or at the beginning of the first wagon. You have to pay extra for the bicycle. The advice is to stay with your bike or take all luggage with you to your compartment: there will be stolen.
